CCC Certification (China Compulsory Certification, also known as "3C Certification") is a mandatory product conformity assessment system implemented by the Chinese government under the "Compulsory Product Certification Management Regulations." The CCC mark design consists of "CCC" (three C letters side by side) as specified by the National Standard, and is the unified national Product Safety Certification mark. CCC Certification is uniformly managed by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA), and implemented by designated Certification Bodies such as China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) (CQC).
CCC Certification was officially implemented on May 1, 2002, replacing the previous Import Commodity Safety Quality License System (CCIB) and Electrical Product Safety Certification System (CCEE, i.e., Great Wall Certification). The purpose of CCC Certification is to protect national security, prevent fraud, protect human health and safety, protect animal and plant life and health, and protect the environment.
The scope of CCC Certification is defined by the "Compulsory Product Certification Catalog" published by the CNCA. The catalog covers Electronic and Electrical Products, automobiles, motorcycles, toys, fire protection products, security products, decoration and renovation materials, and many other product categories. The catalog is regularly updated and adjusted.
The evaluation mode for CCC Certification is "Type Test + Factory Quality Assurance Capability Inspection + Post-Certification Surveillance." Products must pass Type Test (Safety Test and EMC Test) at designated laboratories, and factories must pass initial Factory Inspection and annual follow-up inspections by the Certification Body. CCC Certificate Validity Period is 5 years, with annual surveillance reviews required during the validity period.
