China Quality Inspection Report

A quality inspection report (product quality inspection report) is a Technical Documentation with legal effect issued by a qualified Testing Organization after conducting testing in accordance with National Standard, Industry Standard or Enterprise Standard for the product. A quality inspection report is an important document certifying product quality compliance in the Chinese market, widely applied in scenarios such as e-commerce platform listing, bidding, market surveillance spot checks, consumer rights protection, etc.

Quality inspection reports and CCC Certification are different. A quality inspection report is a testing results report for a specific product, and is not a certificate. CCC Certification is Compulsory Product Certification, which has a unified mark and certificate; a quality inspection report is a report issued by a Testing Organization after testing product samples, and does not have a Certification Mark. A quality inspection report is typically only responsible for the samples provided, and does not involve factory inspection and post-certification supervision.

For listing on e-commerce platforms, each major e-commerce platform (such as Taobao/Tmall, JD.com, Pinduoduo, Douyin E-commerce, etc.) requires merchants to provide the product's quality inspection report before it can be listed for sale. Different platforms and different product categories have different requirements for the quality inspection report, typically requiring the report to include Safety Test, Performance Test, harmful substance testing, etc.

The quality inspection report itself has no Marking Requirements. The report is a Technical Documentation issued by the Testing Organization, including Test Items, Test Method, test results and judgment conclusions. The CMA (China Metrology Accreditation (CMA)) and CNAS (China National Accreditation Service (CNAS)) marks are usually marked on the report cover, indicating that the Testing Organization has the appropriate testing qualifications.

Quality inspection reports usually bear the Testing Organization's exclusive inspection and testing seal. The report's validity depends on the Testing Organization's qualifications and accreditation scope. For e-commerce listing purposes, platforms usually require the report to be issued by an organization with CNAS and CMA dual qualifications, and the report's date to be within its validity period (usually required to be recent).1-2 years)

Quality inspection reports are typically only responsible for the submitted samples. This means the report/certificate only reflects the quality condition of the submitted Samples, and is not representative of the quality of bulk products or different batch products. If the product batch changes or the design is modified, a quality inspection report needs to be reissued. E-commerce platforms usually require the issue date of the quality inspection report to be recent.1-2 years
