Japan TELEC Certification (also known as Technical Standards Certification) is a mandatory certification for radio equipment sold in the Japanese market, required under Japan's Radio Law. TELEC is a Registered Certification Body (RCB) designated by Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), responsible for radio equipment compliance certification.

The Radio Law of Japan requires type approval (i.e. technical regulation compliance certification) for specified radio equipment. TELEC certification is mandatory. Certification Body is mic registration recognized in the specified range of radio equipment. Certification Body TELEC (Telecom Engineering Center) is the main registration Certification Body for radio equipment conformity certification in Japan. TELEC is also called mic certification in Japan. TELEC is one of the mic designated certification agencies, so it is collectively referred to as TELEC certification.

TELEC certification includes Test Certification and Type Certification.Test Certification verifies each individual device unit and is only valid for that specific verified unit.

Type Certification verifies samples of a batch of devices with the same design and manufacturing. The certification is valid for the entire batch. However, if the device design or manufacturing changes, re-certification is required.

It is worth noting that the use of non-low-power wireless stations and their terminal equipment requires a license from MIC.

For wireless terminal devices, in addition to JATE certification under the Telecommunications Business Law, TELEC certification is also required under the Radio Law.

Among them, the standard used by 2.4GHz Wi Fi products (802.11b/g, 2412-2472 MHz) and Bluetooth products is mic Notice No.88Annex43, but for the 14 channels of 2.4GHz Wi Fi products (Channel 14: 2471-2497MHz), Annex 44 alone needs to be used for testing and issue reporting, and the corresponding fees need to be increased. For 5GHz Wi-Fi products (802.11a, 5180 ~ 5320MHz, W52 Band and W53Band), the test standard is Annex 45. However, it should be noted that the data shows that the mic will revise Annex 45 in the near future to include 5.6GHz devices (Band W56) in Annex 45, and there are more stringent DFS test requirements for Band 56 bands.
