Singapore PSB Certification is administered under the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations (CPSR) by Enterprise Singapore (formerly SPRING Singapore). The PSB Safety Mark is mandatory for 33 categories of controlled consumer goods sold in Singapore.
The Controlled Goods Scheme requires that designated products must be tested by a recognized third-party testing laboratory, registered with Enterprise Singapore, and bear the Safety Mark before they can be sold in Singapore. The Safety Mark indicates compliance with relevant Singapore Standards (SS).
The 33 categories of controlled goods include electrical appliances, electronic devices, and accessories that may pose safety risks to consumers. Products must meet applicable Singapore Standards, many of which are based on IEC international standards.
PSB Certification follows a registration model: products are tested at accredited laboratories, test reports are submitted to a Registered Supplier who applies for product registration with Enterprise Singapore. The Safety Mark must be affixed to registered products with the unique registration number.
