I. ATEX Directives
ATEX 2014/34/EU: Applies to manufacturers of equipment and protective systems for potentially explosive atmospheres.
ATEX 1999/92/EC: Defines minimum requirements for worker safety in explosive atmospheres.
II. Equipment Groups and Categories
Group I (Mining): Category M1 (very high protection), M2 (high protection)
Group II (Other): Category 1 (Zone 0/20), Category 2 (Zone 1/21), Category 3 (Zone 2/22)
III. Hazardous Zone Classification
Gas: Zone 0 (continuous), Zone 1 (likely), Zone 2 (unlikely)
